a taste of modern music

However uncomfortably, I must admit a sincere and somewhat warped passion for a genre of music which elicits vehement opposition and outright disgust in the unsuspecting listener: I’m talking about modern, post-modern, and contemporary art-music, a.k.a. the most vituperated artistic form known to man.All jokes aside, I find the thorny, abstract, yet-so-delightfully-expressive language irresistible, and I’ve made it a point to share this passion of mine with audiences on both sides of the pond. In my recent Second Graduate Recital at the San Francisco Conservatory I subjected friends, family and colleagues to a full hour of pieces that are everything but ordinary; now it’s my pleasure to offer the world wide web some video selections from that very concert at 50 Oak st.
The pieces in question would each warrant extended discussion, but for now I’m going to try and let the music speak for itself; I hope you enjoy it.
