weddings and events
I offer musical services in the Greater Bay Area for a variety of situations, including corporate events, wedding ceremonies/receptions, private dinners and cocktail parties: performing acoustically or with light amplification, and offering a choice of repertoire crossing a variety of genres, I can provide the right musical enhancement for any circumstance.
For weddings, I offer a flexible approach to best suit the style of the ceremony—I have played pieces ranging from Bach to Dave Matthews to meet the requests of many brides over the years! If you’re planning a wedding in the San Francisco Bay Area, please feel free to contact me with any inquiry in order to discuss what you need and how I can participate in your special day. Here’s what some past clients have had to say:
“I wanted to thank you for the beautiful music you provided us on our wedding day. Everyone really, really enjoyed hearing you play. You made our ceremony that much more intimate and elegant. You were so gracious and professional, I wish I could do it over it again to hear you play. Harumi.”
“Thanks for adding to our magical day! You were fantastic. Warmly, Claire.”
“We just wanted to thank you for helping to make our wedding day so special. You did an amazing job and the music was perfect. I know you got a chance to meet Chris and i’m so sorry I didn’t get a chance to talk to you and thank you in person. I was running around doing the bride thing but I absolutely loved the music. Thank you again. Tara.”
Previous clients include the San Francisco and Nashville Public Libraries; the San Francisco Symphony, Broadcom, the ALS Association, and the Women’s Private Equity Summit 2010 in the Bay Area; the Frist Museum and the Gordon Jewish Community Center in Nashville, in addition to the Advancement Offices of both Belmont University and the San Francisco Conservatory.
lessons: in-person and online
Currently I have openings for students in Santa Cruz and San Francisco. I teach all levels from beginner to college-prep, both classical and steel-string acoustic. Like other aspects of my musical creed, my teaching philosophy is eclectic and passionate; I put the student’s goals first and foremost, and adapt my approach in order to better serve his or her cause. Technical and musical aspects play equally important roles in my lessons, and it is my ultimate goal to form good musicians as well as competent guitarists.
In an effort to keep up with the 21st century, I also offer private online lessons via Skype or Google Talk. This is an experimental thing for me, so for the time being I’m offering it at an introductory discounted rate. If you have a webcam and would like to try this out, feel free to contact me and we’ll arrange something.
